Review: these terms are a starting draft. A commercial solicitor should set the liability, insurance, and trading-conditions clauses before you rely on them. Freight and customs work is usually contracted on standard trading conditions, so that choice needs a firm decision.

1. About these terms

These terms cover the website and the quotes we give through it. A binding contract for any shipment starts only when we both sign a written engagement or you accept a written quote. Until then, nothing here commits either side to a deal.

2. Quotes

A quote reflects the details you give us at the time. Freight rates, duty, and transit windows move with the market and with the facts of the load, so a quote holds only for the period stated on it. We confirm the final figures before anything ships.

3. Your responsibilities

• Give us accurate product details, values, and volumes. Customs entries rely on them.
• Hold a valid GB EORI number where you are the importer of record.
• Tell us about restricted, hazardous, or licensable goods before we book.
• Pay duty, import VAT, and our invoices on the agreed terms.

4. Trading conditions

Freight forwarding and customs work carry legal and financial risk that standard industry conditions are written to handle.

Review: decide which trading conditions apply (for example BIFA Standard Trading Conditions), name them here, and provide a copy to every client. Do not claim membership of any trade body unless it is held.

5. Liability

We take care over every job, and we work to the standards of a competent forwarder and customs agent. Our liability is limited by the trading conditions we adopt and by law.

Review: the liability cap, the insurance position, and any exclusions must be set by a solicitor and matched to your cover.

6. Payment

Invoice terms are stated on each engagement. Duty and import VAT are payable when they fall due, whether through your own deferment account or an arrangement we agree in writing.

7. Governing law

These terms and any dispute under them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
